About the Author

Beverly Slomka is a former Merrill Lynch executive, and currently works as a senior recruiter with Larry White Associates, Inc., a nationwide healthcare search firm. She earned a BA in Psychology and an MS in Education/Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, a prestigious society dedicated to academic honors in the liberal arts and sciences. Beverly resides with her husband in New York City.
Ms. Slomka was inspired to write Teens and the Job Game based on her experience as a recruiter and manager. Raised in a working class family, Ms. Slomka credits the encouragement of parents and teachers, good education, hard work, and a good work ethic for her ultimate success in the work world.
Based on Ms. Slomka’s corporate experience and leadership in a recruiting firm, she leads teens to a new level of preparation for entering the workforce. Slomka presents teens with no-nonsense, often-overlooked tips to molding a professional image and examining the ways that current education, and development of one’s person is related to future work. She carefully guides young adults on a path to choosing not just a job, but more importantly, the right career.
